Oppo rolls out ColorOS 16 update for Reno12 F and Reno13 FS

A few days back, Oppo released the anticipated ColorOS 16 update for Reno13 F. Today, the company has extended the availability of the big software upgrade to two more phones: Reno12 F and Reno13 FS. Oppo is pushing the Android 16-centric ColorOS 16 update to these two phones with a bunch of new features and enhancements.

At the moment, the update is in its early rollout phase. If you own the Reno13 FS and reside in Russia, you will receive the update ending with CPH2699_16.0.1.310 (EX01) build number. Whereas, the Reno12 F is receiving the new update with CPH2637_16.0.1.300 software version in Europe. As it is a major software upgrade, it weighs around 3.5GB in download size.

Oppo wants your phone to be updated to the latest available software version. Also, please ensure you have at least 6-7GB of free storage space on your device. You can connect your device to a stable WiFi connection for quick installation.

If you’re in a hurry and want to update your device to the newest software upgrade, please ensure your phone is running on the newest available ColorOS 15 build. If your phone is running on older software, update it to the latest version.

Moving to the features, Android 16-based ColorOS 16 update features a major design overhaul, improved performance, smoother animations, and a plethora of new features and updated system apps. Apart from these changes, the update will bump up the monthly security patch version.

You can request the ColorOS 16 update by navigating to Settings > System & Update > Tap the top of the page > Tap the icon in the top right corner > Beta Program > Release Candidate > Apply Now.

Once done, you will receive the update go back and select the Detect the update option > Download now. That’s it.

Make sure to take a backup before installing the update on your device. Also, charge your phone to at least 50%.
