Samsung rolls out One UI 8 Beta for Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6

Summarize This Article:

Last week, Samsung announced plans to bring the One UI 8 to more phones. While the company has delayed several update plans over the past year, it stayed true to last week’s promise and released the One UI 8 beta for more devices today. The One UI 8 public beta is now live for both the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6.

Alongside the sixth-generation foldables, Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, Samsung has also rolled out the One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy S24 series. In this article, though, we’ll focus on the beta build for the foldable devices.

The One UI 8 beta is currently available in Korea, though it may already be live in more regions. As per last week’s announcement, the One UI 8 beta will be available in the US, Korea, UK, and India.

If you own a Galaxy Z Fold 6 or Flip 6 in one of the mentioned regions, you can join the One UI 8 beta program to try it before the official release. First, make sure the Samsung Members app is updated, then open it. In the app, you will see the One UI 8 Beta badge, tap it, read the details, and hit the Join button to enroll in the beta program.

Once you have joined the program, the One UI 8 beta update will appear immediately in Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. However, make sure to back up your data before installing the beta build.

One UI 8 is one of Samsung’s best updates yet. While it may not bring as many changes as One UI 7, it takes the smoothness to the next level with an improved animation system-wide. As per the beta builds for the Galaxy S25, One UI 8 feels smoother than ever.

One UI 8 also introduces the popular Adaptive lock screen clock, which finally brings an alternative to the depth effect. This is one of the new features you’ll want to try as soon as you install the beta build. Other features include improved split-screen view, better display support in Samsung DeX, easier file sharing with Quick Share, Dynamic Lock screen, hide apps in secure folder, updated stock apps, improved animations, and more.

There are more changes in the One UI 8 beta, however, the full changelog isn’t available to us yet. Once it’s available, I’ll update the details here.
