In April, Motorola officially began rolling out Android 13 to its devices. The initial phase of the rollout included the premium phones from the Moto Edge 20 series and Edge 30 series. The company has now started pushing the new software to a G-series smartphone. The latest model to receive the Android 13 update is Moto G 5G (2022), read along to know more details about the update.

Motorola has kicked off the new software upgrade with the T1SA33.73-40 build number. Currently, the upgrade is in a rolling phase and will be available to everyone in a matter of time. AT&T’s support page also confirmed the rollout and as per the details, the update weighs around 1.6GB in size. As it is a big upgrade, make sure that you have enough storage on your device.

In terms of changes, the new software comes with a stack of new features including revamped personalization panel with the support of more color palettes, an updated notifications panel, revamped Music Player, Bluetooth LE audio support,ย per-app languageย feature, app notifications permission, and many more. AT&T’s support page also confirms a newer monthly security patch. This release brings April 2023 monthly security patch.

At the time of writing, we are not aware of the stability of the new update. I suggest you wait for a few days for an incremental upgrade and then install it on your phone, or if you are in a hurry, then you can take a backup of important data and then install it on your phone.

If you own a Moto G 5G (2022) and want to update to the Android 13 OS, then you can navigate to Settings > System > Advanced > System updates and check for the new updates. As it is currently in a rolling phase, you can wait for a few days for the official OTA notification.

If the update is not available, you can wait for a few days or update it manually. Before updating your phone make sure to charge it to at least 50% and also make a backup of important data.
