Microsoft brings Windows 11 Build 22621.1413 (KB5023706) with a bunch of new features

It is the second Tuesday of the month which means a new Windows 11 update for 22H2 users. Microsoft has started rolling out Windows 11 build 22621.1413 today. It is a monthly update that comes with a set of new features for everyone.

Unlike beta updates, monthly updates are available to everyone, not just users of the Insider program. Its preview build, which is an optional update, was released on 28 February with some new features. And those features are part of today’s update along with a few other improvements.

The new Windows 11 build 22621.1413 is tagged as KB build KB5023706. Yes, it’s a big update and part of the 22H2 version. Here is everything new on the update.

New Search Bar
The new search bar lets you directly type in the taskbar and the result will show right away in the flyout. You can change its experience from Taskbar settings.

Windows Studio Effect from Quick Settings
You can now directly access the Windows Studio Effect in Quick Settings. It’s for devices that have NPU Neural Processing Unit support. Using the shortcut, you can configure camera effects such as Background blur, eye contact, and more.

Quick Assist in Start Menu
Quick Assist helps you with PC issues and accessing it now is easier than ever. It’s now available in the Start menu’s App list.

Touch optimized taskbar
If you have a 2-in-1 device, the taskbar will not come your way. There are two states of the taskbar, collapsed and expanded. In the collapsed state, the taskbar is small and only shows critical status icons only. And in the expanded state, the taskbar is of normal size and has all required icons for easier touch interaction.

Enhanced support for Braille Devices
When you switch between Microsoft Narrator and third party screen readers, the Braille device will continue working.

Support for new Braille Displays
The update includes support for new Braille Displays and new Braille input and output languages in Microsoft Narrator.

Energy Recommendation
The new update comes with Energy Recommendation in System > Power settings. You can use it to improve energy efficiency and reduce your carbon footprint.

AI powered recommended content
On devices joined to Azure Active Directory, you will now get AI powered recommended content on Start Menu. It will save time and increase work efficiency.

Enhanced System Tray
All icons in the system tray will have rounded focus and hover treatment in the lower right.

The new monthly update also addresses security issues.

If you have updated your Windows PC to Windows 11 22H2 version, you will be seeing this update on your device soon if not early. You can check for the update by going to Settings > Software Update. And once the update is available, download and restart your PC.
