LG Wing starts getting Android 13 update with new features

LG has fulfilled its promise of releasing an Android 13 upgrade for eligible phones. The company has already released new software for LG Velvet and LG V60 ThinQ. And now is the time for the LG Wing. Yes, LG has started rolling out the Android 13 update for LG Wing. Read along to learn more details about the update.

LG Wing picks up the new software with the V40a-MAR-16-2023 software version number. As the phone announced with Android 10, this is the third major software upgrade for the smartphone. As it is a major update, it weighs around 1.4GB in size, make sure you have enough storage on your smartphone.

At the time of writing, the update is seeding in Korea and will also be released in other countries very soon. A number of users have already received the new update, some LG Wing users shared the screenshots on Reddit and other social media platforms.

Here’s the complete changelog of the new update.

  • Device control shortcut icons can be displayed on the lock screen.
  • Added preview, sharing, and text editing functions for copied text or images.
  • You can check and stop apps that are currently active in the status notification window.
  • The multi-window function has been simplified.
  • The functions of the music and video controllers displayed in the status notification window have been improved.
  • Added notification permission setting function for each app.

LG Wing Android 13 update is rolling with several features and security enhancements. Talking about the changes, then the upgrade brings new media player controls to the lock screen and notification bar, themed icons with enhancements, and many more. The update will also bump up the monthly security patch to March 2023.
