Apple will release its next version of iOS, iOS 26, in less than 24 hours. While developers and beta testers have already experienced iOS 26 through beta, it will be a completely new experience for those who haven’t tried it yet. However, not all iPhone models will receive the update. Here, you can check if your iPhone is eligible for the iOS 26 update and how to download the update.
iOS 26 is a major release with a big design overhaul and a plethora of new features. It brings a new Liquid Glass design to the whole UI, which looks amazing and modern. Additionally, the update brings visual intelligence, chat personalization, Live translation, new ringtones, new screening tools, new depth effect, improved Apple Intelligence, and various other features.
While iOS 26 is a great update, it unfortunately isn’t compatible with all iPhone models running iOS 18. This means some users won’t be able to experience the all-new iOS 26 on their iPhone. Let’s now explore the iOS 26 eligible devices list.

If you own an iOS 26 compatible iPhone, ensure that your device is ready for the latest update. Simply check if there’s sufficient free storage, your device is charged at least 50%, and it’s up to date.
To download iOS 26 as soon as it’s released, connect your device to the Internet and navigate to Settings > General > Software Update. The iOS 26 update will appear, tap download and install. Now wait for the device to restart, and then you can enjoy iOS 26.
If you have installed the iOS 26 Release Candidate you’ll not receive the public build since both build are same. If you are on a beta build, you can turn off beta updates to receive the iOS 26 build or you can also install the iOS 26 RC.
Make sure your phone is at a cool or normal temperature during the update process, as updating the phone can increase its temperature and sometimes cause green lines to appear.
