How to remove Apple Watch Band

Before taking the band off of your Apple Watch, make sure that you set up your Apple Watch on a clean lint-free cloth, this will reduce the risk of scratching the display of your Apple Watch. Once you are ready, let’s proceed:

  1. Place your Apple Watch, face-down, and find the two pill-shaped release buttons on the back of your Apple Watch case.
  2. Push one of the release buttons and gently slide the corresponding band free from your Apple Watch.
  3. Repeat step 2 for the other side as well.

Note: If your band is a metal link bracelet, press the quick-release button on the bracelet to separate it before detaching it from the Apple Watch.

According to Apple, the watch bands designed for earlier generations of the Apple Watch can still be used on the Apple Watch Series 4 and later, as well as the Apple Watch SE.
