iPhone 16 phones are built to harness the power of Apple Intelligence, powered by the advanced A18 and A18 Pro Bionic chipset. Let’s find out.

Does Apple Intelligence features work out of the box on iPhone 16?

iPhone 16 ships with iOS 18 out-of-the-box, which also means the anticipated Apple Intelligence features are not enabled at launch. The AI features will be rolled out to compatible devices in different phases, with the first set becoming available to the public next month for U.S. English users through the iOS 18.1 update.

Apple Intelligence offers many useful features including new writing tools, Genmoji and Image Playground for AI-generated images, priority notifications, more powerful Siri, ChatGPT integration, and more.

The first set of features includes Priority Notifications and all-new Siri support for the four new iPhone 16 models, as well as the iPhone 15 Pro lineup. Meanwhile, features such as Image Playground and other features are slated for release later this year.

Apple has been painstakingly working on incorporating powerful AI features into iPhones. The company first introduced Apple Intelligence at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, dedicating nearly 40 minutes to showcasing the capabilities of these new AI features.

A significant portion of the iPhone 16 “It’s Glowtime” event also focused on these innovations. But the strange thing is that they were unable to release their iPhone 16 with Apple Intelligence features.

Apple Intelligence features were made available to developers for testing, with the initial release on July 29. Since then, the company has rolled out three beta builds, with the stable update scheduled for release next month.

When it comes to availability, the Apple Intelligence features will be available for iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

It will be interesting to see how the new Apple Intelligence features work on iPhone 15 Pro models with Apple A17 Pro Bionic chipset as well as on new iPhone 16 models with A18 and A18 Pro Bionic processors.
