The OnePlus 13s, a new compact flagship from the Chinese tech giant, was recently announced in India. It boasts numerous top-of-the-line specifications, including Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a 5,850mAh graphene single-cell battery, a 6.3-inch compact LTPO AMOLED display, and more.
Alongside the OnePlus 13s, the brand had also announced a slew of new AI-powered features. The “Plus Key” was also debuted globally for the first time via this device. Regarding AI features, the OnePlus 13s is the first device to have some of the newly announced AI features. It will soon debut in the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R as well. But before that, let’s enjoy the exclusivity and see how to use the newly added AI features.

AI Features in Gallery
OnePlus has added some really interesting AI-powered features to the Gallery. These features can give your photo a nice retouch. You can access these features by going to Gallery, selecting any photo, clicking on “Edit”, and then “AI Editor”. You will be able to see and use all the AI features here.
AI Recompose
If you want your photo to have a cinematic look and don’t know how to take a picture that looks symmetrical or cinematic, then this feature will come in handy for you. Just select any picture, trigger the AI Recompose feature, and it will suggest different filters and aspect ratios for your image. It will also change the dimensions of the picture or make it look more appealing.
AI Detail Boost
The next AI feature in our list is AI Detail Boost. If you are taking any long-range zoom picture and there are not sufficient details in the image, then this feature will act as a lifesaver for you. It uses artificial intelligence to enhance the clarity of the image, and the result looks a lot better if used correctly.
AI Eraser
This feature is already very popular. And with the OnePlus 13s, the firm has further polished it. If there are unwanted components in your picture and you want to make it look “clean” and “better”, then AI Eraser will come in handy for you. The feature has become so good that it sometimes becomes hard to differentiate between the original picture and the one edited using AI.
AI Unblur
We are all aware of the situation where we try to take a photo of a moving object, and the final image ends up being blurry. Blurry images are not a new thing, and we often face this issue in our daily lives. Well, the AI Unblur feature is here to save it. Using the feature will intelligently make your image look less blurry and will add details to it.
AI Reflection Eraser
Another common issues we face while taking images are “reflections”, and those can be really frustrating. It is more visible while taking night images or taking pictures of an object kept inside a glass shield. AI Reflection Eraser is OnePlus’s attempt to solve the issue, and it does the job perfectly fine.
More AI Features
AI Call Assistant
OnePlus 13s comes with a new dialer developed and designed by OnePlus. It is a step in the right direction as it finally replaces the annoying Google Dialer. But one good thing that happened because of the change is the addition of “AI Call Assistant”. It works with both the network calls and calls made from third-party apps such as WhatsApp.
To access the AI call assistant while using the stock dialer, just press the “AI Call Assistant” button, and you will have the options. If you want to use it on third-party apps, then simply use the sidebar to access the features.
AI VoiceScribe
Using this feature, you can record and summarise the calls and meetings. It works perfectly fine on the stock dialer and the third-party apps. The feature can work on as many as 20 different languages. The summary can be accessed later on the official Notes application. You can make changes to it and share it with others as well.
AI Translation
Speaking with someone who doesn’t know the same language as yours can be difficult. But now, AI is here to save you from this problem as well. The newly added AI Translation feature supports real-time translation in multiple languages on both calls and meetings. You can choose to view the translation live on the screen and save it later in the notes application.
AI Integration into Search
This is going to be my favourite feature. The OnePlus has integrated the AI directly into the search, and believe me, it works fantastically. Suppose you are looking for a particular setting and are confused about where to find it. Just write it down in the search, and AI will tell you where you can find that option. You may also get a direct button to access the page, which is nice. The AI can also read all the documents stored locally and can answer your query based on that.
Suppose you have a college timetable PDF saved on your device, and you want to know what classes you have on a particular date. Simply type in the search, and AI will answer it within a fraction of a minute.
Conclusion
It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the OnePlus 13s is an “AI Phone”. And these AI features can be really useful at times. I have been using the device for quite a few times now and will be dropping its full review very soon, so stay tuned for that!
