Apple releases iOS 26.4 Beta 2 to developers

The latest iOS 26.4 Beta 2 update comes with build number 23E5218e. The update size may vary depending on the model and the current update installed.

Now coming to the changes, the end-to-end encryption for RCS messages now includes messaging between iPhone and Android. This feature is still in beta testing and may not be available to the public with the final release of iOS 26.4.

There is also a new setting called Reduce Highlighting Effect available under Settings > Display and Text Size. There are also some UI tweaks and enhancements, including the Home screen edit menu now uses more transparent Liquid Glass visuals, control center menus appear properly in dark mode, and the search bar now being located inside the menu container in some official Apple apps.

Other changes include an exclusive library of photos and illustrations in Freeform for Apple creator studio users, the ability to easily delete contact posters, and more.

The second beta of iOS 26.4 is available to developers and beta users. If you haven’t selected the beta update, you can do so by going to Settings > General > Software update > Beta updates. Once the beta option is selected, you will see the second beta update in the Software Update settings.
