Will Windows 11 be a free update?

Microsoft recently announced the new Windows 11 at their June Event. Yes, all the rumors that said Windows 11 will come are now true.

Windows 11 comes with major UI overhaul like the centered dock, round corners, glassy transparent backgrounds and animations, and of course many new features.

The all-new Windows 11 comes with many features that users prefer over Windows 10. But as this is a major update you must be willing to know if Windows 11 is a free upgrade.

Windows 11 is releasing this fall but before that Microsoft is releasing Windows 11 Insider build in June for users who opted Insider program. And in July Public Beta will be released.

Is Windows 11 a free upgrade?

Yes Windows 11 is free for all users who are using the official Windows 10 PC. There’s a catch that your PC must pass the minimum requirement test.

If you have Windows 7 or Windows 8 PC then you won’t be able to upgrade directly to Windows 11. It is necessary to have a Windows 10 supported PC to get Windows 11 for free.

As of now Microsoft has not announced the Windows 11 standalone price that you can purchase to use on DOS PCs. But they will reveal the price soon.

PC makers like Dell, Acer, Asus, HP are ready with their latest PCs running Windows 11. So, if you are going to buy a new PC, you can get it with Windows 11.
