Vivo X90 and V40 Pro now receiving OriginOS 6 update

Summarize This Article:

These days, smartphone makers are working on providing Android 16-based software updates to the older phones, and Vivo isn’t different. The company has recently released the update for Vivo V40. Now they are extending the availability of OriginOS 6 update to Vivo V40 Pro and the premium Vivo X90. The update carries a slew of new features and changes.

At the moment, the update is available to a limited set of users through Vivo’s trial program. If you’re in a haste, you can join the trial program and get access to the new OriginOS 6 features. As per the details shared by a Vivo X90 user, the phone picks up its third big OS upgrade with PD224ICF_EX_A_16.3.6.6.W30 build number. It weighs around 4.07GB in download size.

If everything goes fine with the trial build, the stable update will be pushed to the masses. Also, please ensure that your phone is running on the latest available software version. For the time being, we don’t have details for the Vivo V40 Pro, it is currently limited to a very small number of users. We can expect a broader rollout soon.

In terms of features and changes, the upgrade brings an all-new user interface, smooth animations, AI lightning, redesigned media player, enhanced lock screen customization, and many other features. Since the update is based on Android 16, it also includes stock Android features. The update changelog is the same as mentioned on this page.

If you reside in India and own the Vivo V40 Pro or X90, you can now upgrade your device to OriginOS 6 based Android 16 update by navigating to Settings > About Phone > System updates > version Trial > Trial version > download and install.

Please take a backup of important data before updating your device to the latest update. Also, charge your phone to atleast 50% before installing the update.
