Early this month, Samsung announced the One UI Watch 5 is coming to the older watches including Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5. The South Korean tech giant has fulfilled its promise and started rolling out new software to the older models of Galaxy Watch. The new software is rolling with a slew of new features and changes.
Samsung is pushing new software to the Watch 4 with the R8xxUSQU1ZWF1 version number, whereas, the Watch 5 picks up the update with the R9xxXXU1BWH3 software version. As it is a major upgrade, it weighs a whopping 1.7GB in download size.
At the time of writing, the upgrade is available in the US and the Republic of South Korea. We can expect a wider rollout in the coming days. Some users have already received the update and confirmed the rollout.
Talking about the changes, then the One UI Watch 5 based on Wear OS 4 comes out with features like upgraded sleep management feature through a more intuitive UI with a detailed analysis of the Sleep Score, Sleep Consistency and Sleep Animal Symbols. The update also comes with a Personalized Heart Rate zone feature, more enhanced GPX for Watch 5 Pro, better health monitoring with the Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification (IHRN), new watch faces, and more.
Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 series users from South Korea and the US can check new software updates in the Galaxy Wearable app. To check new updates, you can navigate to Galaxy Wearable app > Settings > Software Updates. If the update is available you can download and install it on your watch, if not, you can wait for a few days.
