Realme 5 Pro now receives stable Realme UI 2.0 based Android 11 update

Three months ago, Realme initially announced Realme UI 2.0 early access for the Realme 5 Pro smartphone. The more stable build joined the Realme 5 Pro in the form of open beta update in July. The smartphone was announced in 2019 with Android Pie 9.0 OS, received its first major OS upgrade – Android 10 – last year. Realme kicks off the latest update on Realme 5 Pro with the RMX1971EX_11.F.03 software version. The company recommends Realme 5 Pro users update their phone to any of these software versions – RMX1971EX_11.C.14 / RMX1971EX_11.C.15 – to get the new update. As this is a major upgrade, it measures around 1.15GB of download size. I suggest you to connect your device to a stable Wi-Fi network for faster downloading.

In terms of changes, then the update knocks up with a number of new features such as new AODs, notification panel, power menu, revamped home screen UI settings, enhanced dark mode, and more. Here’s the complete changelog shared by Realme on its community forum.

  • Personalize the user interface to make it your own
    • Third-party icons for apps on the home screen are now supported.
    • Three Dark mode styles are available: Enhanced, medium, and gentle; wallpapers and icons can be adjusted to Dark mode; and the display contrast can be adjusted automatically to ambient light.

High Efficiency

  • Optimized the editing page of Smart Sidebar: Two tabs are displayed and the order of items can be customized.

Improved Performance

  • Added “Optimized night charging”: An AI algorithm is used to control charging speed at night to extend battery life.

System

  • Added “Tone tunes”: Consecutive notification tones will be linked to form a single melody.
  • You can now determine a time period when Do Not Disturb is on.
  • Added weather animations to provide you with a more interesting experience.
  • Optimized vibration effects for text input and gameplay.
  • Optimized “Auto brightness”.

Launcher

  • You can now remove a folder or combine it with another one.
  • Added filters for “Drawer mode”: You can now filter apps by letters, install time, or usage frequency to quickly find an app.

Security and Privacy

  • You can now turn “App lock” on or off in Quick Settings.
  • Added “Low battery message”: When your phone battery is lower than 15%, you can quickly send a message to share your location with specified people.
  • More powerful SOS functions
    Emergency info: You can quickly display your personal emergency info to first responders. The information can be shown even when your screen is locked.
  • Optimized “Permission manager”: You can now choose “Allow only once” for sensitive permissions to better protect your privacy.

Games

  • Added Immersive mode which reduces disturbances while gaming so you can stay focused.
  • You can change the way to summon Game Assistant.

Communications

  • You can share your personal hotspot with others via a QR code.

Photos

  • Added the Cloud Sync for Private Safe feature which allows you to sync the photos in your Private Safe to the cloud.
  • Optimized the photo editing feature with upgraded algorithms and more markup effects and filters.

HeyTap Cloud

  • You can back up your photos, documents, system settings, and more, and easily migrate to a new phone.

Camera

  • Added the inertial zoom feature which makes zooming smoother during video shooting.
  • Added the level and grid feature to help you compose videos.

realme Lab

  • Added Sleep Capsule, help you schedule downtime and secure your sleep time.

Accessibility

  • Added “Sound amplifier”: You can amplify faint sounds in the environment and soften loud sounds when wearing earphones.

While sharing the information of new update, the company also highlights common issues, which users can face after upgrading to the Realme UI 2.0 update. So, if you’re going to update your smartphone to the new software update, make sure to read out the known issues as well.

  • After the upgrade, it may take a longer time to boot for the first time, especially if there are many third-party applications on your phone.
  • After the upgrade, in order to improve the system operation efficiency and eliminate potential safety risks, the system will perform a series of actions such as application adaptation, background optimization and security scanning. so, the system will occupy more CPU, memory and other resources, which may cause slight hanging and faster power consumption.
    We suggest that you can leave it for 5 hours after the phone is fully charged or use the mobile phone for 3 days normally, then your device will get back to normal.

The wait is finally over, Realme 5 Pro users can now upgrade their smartphone to Realme UI 2.0 based Android 11 update. If you’re using the Realme 5 Pro then you’ll receive the new update within a few days. You can check the new updates in the Settings > Software Updates to check the newer updates, as there are some times when we don’t get the OTA notification. In case there’s no update, then you’ll get it within a few days.

Before updating your smartphone, make sure to take a backup of important data and charge your smartphone to at least 50%. In case if you want to go back to Android 10 from Android 11, you can manually install the Android 10 zip file from Stock Recovery.
