Oppo A5 and A60 are getting ColorOS 16 Update

Oppo is slowly broadening its Android 16-based ColorOS 16 skin’s availability to more devices. After updating the Find, Reno, K, and F series devices, the company has now turned its attention to the budget-friendly A-series. Today, the company has started rolling out the stable ColorOS 16 update for Oppo A5 and Oppo A60.

Oppo is pushing the new ColorOS 16 update to the A5 4G smartphone with CPH2727_16.0.1.300 (EX01) build number. Whereas, the A60 is receiving the new update with CPH2631_16.0.2.400 (V120P02) software version. This is a major OS upgrade, and so it weighs around 3.3GB in download size.

If you’re in a hurry and want to update your device to the newest software upgrade, please ensure your phone is running on the newest available ColorOS 15 build. If your phone is running on older software, update it to the latest version. Also, please ensure you have at least 6-7GB of free storage space on your device. You can connect your device to a stable WiFi connection for quick installation.

In terms of changes and features, Android 16-based ColorOS 16 update features a major design overhaul, improved performance, smoother animations, and a plethora of new features and updated system apps. Apart from these changes, the update will bump up the monthly security patch version.

You can request the ColorOS 16 update by navigating to Settings > System & Update > Tap the top of the page > Tap the icon in the top right corner > Beta Program > Release Candidate > Apply Now.

Once done, you will receive the update go back and select the Detect the update option > Download now. That’s it.

Make sure to take a backup before installing the update on your device. Also, charge your phone to at least 50%.
