Moto G86 Power Receives Stable Android 16 Update

Summarize This Article:

One of Motorola’s biggest improvements this year has been its accelerated software update rollout. The company has already released the Android 16 update for a bunch of eligible devices. Today, Motorola extended the much-anticipated Android 16 update to the Moto G86 Power. After testing since August 2025, the stable rollout has finally begun.

If you own the vanilla Moto G86, you need to wait a little longer; the update is currently rolling out to the G86 Power with W1VN36H.60-30 software version. As this is the first major OS upgrade for this G-series smartphone, it requires a big chunk of data for installation. As per the details shared by Twitter user Arjun, the update weighs around 1.38GB in size.

For the time being, the update is rolling out in India; we can expect a global rollout in the coming days. The update will bump up the monthly security patch to newer version.

Android 16 update for Moto G86 Power contains features like Live updates, Desktop Window, Group notifications, New Emojis, Embedded Photo Picker, APV codec support, Predictive Back upgrades, HDR screenshots, Advanced Protection Mode, and more.

If you reside in India and own the Moto G86 Power, you can finally upgrade your device to Android 16. All you need to do is navigate to Settings > System > Advanced > System updates and tap “Check for updates”. Please take a backup before updating your phone and charge it to at least 50%. If the update is not available on your device yet, you can wait for a few days.
