Motorola starts rolling out Android 13 for Moto G62 5G

Google is all set to release Android 14 this month, but there are phones that are also receiving the Android 13 update a year later after its release. I am talking about Motorola phones. After the Moto G Stylus 2022, another Motorola phone has started receiving the Android 13 update. Moto G62 gets Android 13 which is the first major update for the device.

Motorola phones are popular for their stock Android-like user experience. But when it comes to Android updates there is nothing to say as even their flagship phones get updates six or seven months late.

Some users reported that they have already received Android 13 on their Moto G62 5G. Currently, this update is being rolled out for users in India and Brazil. It should also be available in other regions where the device is available.

The Android 13 update for Moto G62 5G is rolling out with build number T1SSI33.1-75-7. Since this is a major update, the update weighs around 1.5GB. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to know the full details of what changes and improvements come with this update. The screenshot shared on Reddit also does not show which Android security update is included.

Going by the many negative reactions to the many recent updates, it is common to be skeptical about this update as well. There have been issues with other OEMs like a green or purple line appearing randomly, or the whole screen going black/green after the update.

Fortunately, no one encountered any such problems as confirmed by many users. Some users faced issue with the network but after restart and network reset they fixed it. The main update page doesn’t show all the information but there are some changes.

  • customize your apps by color, theme and language
  • media player features album artwork and a dancing
    playback bar
  • choose what app notifications you receive

This might be the only and last major Android update for Moto G62 5G.

If you are a Moto G62 5G user you will receive the Android 13 over the air. You can check for the update in Software Update page in Settings. But before upgrading, make sure to backup your data and charge your phone to at least 50%.
