Apple releases iOS 16.4 Beta 3 to developers and public beta testers. As usual, the update is first released to developers, but in a few hours, it will also release to beta testers. And with the release of the third beta build, the iOS 16.4 public build is now a step closer. Here is everything you need to know about iOS 16.4 Beta 3.
Apple started testing iOS 16.4 in mid-February after releasing the iOS 16.3.1 update. And Last week Apple released the second beta with some changes. As you know with the increase of beta builds, new changes, and features get shorter. This means the iOS 16.4 Beta 3 doesn’t include big changes.
Along with the iOS 16.4 Beta 3, Apple also released iPadOS 16.4 Beta 3, macOS Ventura 13.3 Beta 3, macOS Monterey 12.6.4 RC 3, watchOS 9.4 Beta 3, tvOS 16.4 Beta 3, and macOS Big Sur 11.7.5 RC 3.
Talking about the release, Apple also launched a new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus color. And the new color is Yellow. The new color iPhone also comes with new wallpapers that you can get on this page.
Coming back to the new beta update detail, iOS 16.4 Beta 3 comes with build number 20E5229e. Despite the ending letter in the build number, the iOS 16.4 public build could release soon.
As mentioned earlier, we didn’t expect big changes with the new beta build. The update however comes with some changes. One of the main changes includes, the software update page shows if your Apple ID is registered as a Developer or only available for Public beta. You can choose a valid Apple ID that you want to use for the beta update directly from the Software update page.
The update also includes some new colors for Apple Watch faces. Also the latest beta update Modem to a newer build. Other changes include Arabic and Hebrew Siri voices, new splash screens, info pop up in Apple Books for page turn in animation, and a few other changes.
As of now, the iOS 16.4 Beta 3 build is available to Developers which means if you are logged in with your developer id you will receive the update first. The public beta is expected to release in the next few hours so keep an eye on that.
To manually check for the update by going to Settings > General > Software Update. Before updating make sure to backup your data and charge your phone to at least 50%.
