Apple releases iOS 18 Beta 4 and iOS 17.6 RC

Apple has released the iOS 18 Beta 4 to developers and iOS 17.6 RC to developers and beta developers. The second public beta of iOS 18 is also expected to be released soon, maybe later today or tomorrow. Read on to learn more about iOS 18 Beta 4 and iOS 17.6 RC updates.

Update: Apple re-released the fourth beta of iOS 18 with build number 22A5316k on Friday, 26th July.

Today, Apple also released a bunch of other updates. This includes:

  • iOS 16.7.9 RC
  • iOS 15.8.3 RC
  • iPadOS 18 Beta 4
  • iPadOS 17.6 RC
  • macOS Sequoia 15.0 Beta 4
  • macOS Sonoma 14.6 RC
  • macOS Ventura 13.6.8 RC 5
  • macOS Monterey 12.7.6 RC 5
  • tvOS 18.0 Beta 4
  • tvOS 17.6 RC
  • watchOS 11.0 Beta 4
  • watchOS 10.6 RC
  • visionOS 2.0 Beta 4

The iOS 18 Beta 4 update comes with build number 22A5316j and on my iPhone 13, it weighs above 6GB; however, the size may vary depending on your model and current update. On the other hand, the iOS 17.6 RC update comes with build number 21G79.

iOS 18 Beta 4 Update

Talking about changes and new features, the fourth beta of iOS 18 brings some changes and new features. You will find improved animations, visual changes, and more, but don’t expect major changes. Apple Intelligence is still not available. We will add the list of changes below.

  • New Modem Update
  • New CarPlay Wallpapers
  • RCS support is now available in the USA, UK, and Canada (Possibly in other regions too)
  • Improved Stocks app logo
  • Music shortcut removed from Control center
  • Many other small changes
  • Improved performance and many bug fixes

You will get iOS 18 Beta 4 or iOS 17.6 RC on your iPhone based on the beta selection in the Settings. If you are on the public beta, make sure to wait until the second beta is out. In case you don’t know how to get beta updates, go to Settings > General > Software Update and select an option in beta updates.
