The big Tuesday of the month for Windows 11 users is here. Microsoft has a tradition of releasing big monthly update on the second Tuesday of each month which brings a bunch of new features and changes. Microsoft releases updates every week but those are basically for Insiders or a small update. But this is a update that makes many Windows 11 PC users wait for a month.

The August Tuesday Patch is available for Windows 11 versions 22H2 and 21H2. Let’s take a look at the updates that Microsoft has released.

This Tuesday, Microsoft has released not one, but two Windows 11 patch updates for your PC. Both updates are aimed at fixing any issues that your Windows 11 PC might have. Both updates with regard to Patch Tuesday come for two different Windows 11 versions. Let’s take a look at what these two Patch Tuesday updates have to offer to Windows 11 users.

Windows 11 22H2 Patch Tuesday Update (KB5029263)

Windows 11 users who have already installed the Windows 11 22H2 update are getting a new Patch Tuesday update from Microsoft with build 22621.2134. Just like every Patch Tuesday update, this update will be addressing any issues that your Windows 11 PC might have been facing in the last couple of days. The improvements that this update brings do not say much but just the following

  • This update makes miscellaneous security improvements to internal OS functionality. No additional issues were documented for this release.
  • Increases accuracy of brightness
  • Improves recognition and accuracy of Chinese characters in handwriting tools
  • Pinned widgets stay pinned
  • Display and audio devices resume as expected after sleep
  • Improved VPN Performance
  • And all changes from OS preview build 22621.2070

This patch Tuesday update also bumps up the Windows 11 servicing stack update to the new build number of 22621.2061. The need for a servicing stack update is that your Windows 11 PC is able to easily install all new updates that will be made available at a later date.

Windows 11 21H2 Patch Tuesday Update (KB5029253)

This is a new patch update that has been released for Windows 11 users who are on the 22000.2295 build version of Windows 11. The main highlight of this update is that it addresses issues for your Windows 11 PC. Here is the improvements changelog that comes with this Windows 11 Patch Tuesday update

  • This update makes miscellaneous security improvements to internal OS functionality. No additional issues were documented for this release.
  • All changes from OS Preview Build 22000.2245

Additionally, you also get the Windows 11 servicing stack update that comes with the build number 22000.2237. Microsoft has also stated that there are no known issues that you will face when installing this update.

Check For Updates

No matter what Windows 11 update you are running on, you can easily check for the above updates that have just been rolled out by Microsoft. Here are the steps

  • Open the Start Menu by clicking on the Windows icon on the taskbar.
  • Now, click on the Settings app icon from the Start menu.
  • At the top right corner, click on Windows updates.
  • Finally, click on the Get updates button.
  • Your Windows 11 PC will now check and see if there are updates available for your respective Windows 11 build.
  • If the updates are not found, you can check for them again in a few hours. These updates are rolled out in a gradual manner.
