I installed iOS 18 Developer Beta on iPhone. Should you?

June 13, 2024

iOS 18 is now available in developer beta for testing, and anyone can opt for it.

iOS 18 is one of the biggest upgrades in years, with attractive new features, especially in the customization part.

I couldn’t resist all the new features and decided to install the iOS 18 developer beta. Here, I will share my experience so you can make the correct decision.

I am not a heavy user, and in my case, the update is working fine. There was some lag, but it was not a big deal for me.

One thing to note is that not all bugs affect all users. Sometimes you may encounter unique issues that others may not experience.

We also checked the responses from other users, and some encountered bugs, but none of them were major.

For general users, I would advise waiting a few weeks for the public beta. The public beta is more stable compared to the developer beta.

However, if you have a secondary iPhone, you can go ahead and install the beta.

If you can’t wait any longer and still want to test the iOS 18 beta on your primary iPhone, be sure to take a backup before installing iOS 18 beta.

And later if anything goes wrong, you can always restore your iPhone to an older build and then recover your data from backup.
