Two months ago, Motorola kicked off the testing of Android 15 beta on the Edge 40. Today, the company is rolling out stable Android 15 to the mid-ranger. The update is currently in a rolling phase and will be available to all Edge 40 users in the coming weeks.
Several Motorola Edge 40 users have confirmed receiving the stable Android 15 update. You can find user reports and discussions in various threads on Motorola’s official community forum. However, similar to some previous releases, users report multiple issues after installing the update. The list includes issues like overheating issues, UI animation stutters, and slow charging with third-party accessories.
If you reside in India and own the Edge 40, you will receive the new software upgrade ending with V1TL35.73-60-3 build number. The update weighs a whopping 3.1GB in download size. You can connect your smartphone to WiFi to quickly install the update.
In terms of changes, you will get access to the new lock screen customization features, updated quick panel, Gen AI emojis, new emoji stickers, improved connections, and more.
As I mentioned previously, the update is rolling out in phases, so if you want to check if the update is available on your device. You can head over to Settings > System updates > Check for system updates.
Before updating your smartphone make sure to take a backup of important data. Also, charge your smartphone to at least 50%.
