Spotify lets you download songs and playlists to your Apple Watch, which means that you can listen to your favorite music and podcasts while on the go, even if you’ve left your iPhone behind. Today, we will teach you how to download Spotify songs on Apple Watch and enjoy music even when you’ve left your phone behind.
Prerequisites:
Before you can start downloading your favorite music or playlists to your Apple Watch, make sure you have subscribed to Spotify’s Premium Service. If you’re using the free version, you need to pay for the premium service.
Also, Spotify recommends you to be on watchOS 7.1 at least. However, this feature also works with watchOS 6 and newer versions of watchOS. So, you need to have an Apple Watch Series 3 or newer.
Finally, you need to make sure that you are running the latest updated version of Spotify on your iPhone.
Update Spotify app on your iPhone:
- Launch the App Store.
- Tap on your profile icon on the top right corner of your iPhone’s screen.
- Scroll down to refresh the page and get the latest updates.
- If you don’t see Spotify in the list, then you’re already running the latest version of Spotify on your iPhone.
- If you see Spotify in the list, then tap on Update against the Spotify app to update Spotify to the latest version.
Now that you have all the minimum requirements in place, let’s get started with the real deal:
You can download around 10 hours worth of songs on the basic storage Apple Watch. If you have a watch with more storage, you can download more songs. But, if you ask us, 10 hours of music playback is more than enough.
However, there’s a limit of 50 songs per playlist on your Apple Watch. So, if you have large playlists, you should consider breaking down these playlists and creating smaller playlists of 50 songs per playlist on your Apple Watch.
Also, the Apple Watch doesn’t play music directly using the watch speaker, so remember to carry a Bluetooth earphone around to play songs using the watch.
