Samsung’s 7th generation of the Galaxy Z Fold is set to debut next month. If you are someone who owns a Galaxy foldable or are planning to upgrade to the next foldable smartphone from Samsung, or if you simply want to know more about the upcoming tech, you’ve come to the right place.
Today, we’ll be taking a look at everything we know so far about the Galaxy Z Fold 7. We’ll be diving into details such as the renders, leaks, and what else you can expect from Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 will continue with the same book-style fold design but will also have major improvements under the hood. Here’s what we know so far about the new device.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 Release Date
Samsung’s flashy new Galaxy Z Fold 7 is set to be released at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9. This release date has been officially confirmed by Samsung. This event will also see the reveal of the Galaxy Z Flip 7, new Galaxy Watches, and new Galaxy Buds.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 Design
Let’s now talk about the design and styling of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. This year, Samsung has decided to make the Galaxy Z Fold 7 an even thinner device. After being mocked by Honor, who showcased their thinnest foldable with more battery packed into their own foldable, as well as other brands making thinner foldables, Samsung has decided to finally get competitive.
The leaks reveal a slimmer chassis and a few visual changes. Along with the slimmer body, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be lighter. The outer display is said to be wider, which also means the inner display will be bigger.
You can check out the design renders for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 that have been leaked recently. The design renders for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 show off the Jet Blue color, similar to what was seen for the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
Galaxy Z Fold 7: Tech Specs
Since the Galaxy Z Fold 7 acts as a tablet and a smartphone clubbed into one, you can expect Samsung’s best when it comes to the book-style foldable. Powering the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be Samsung’s flagship staple, the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.
Moving towards the RAM and storage options, you can expect Samsung to stick with the 12 GB of RAM and storage choices of 256 GB, 512 GB and a 1 TB variant. Nothing can be said about the battery, but we hope Samsung doesn’t repeat the 4400 mAh battery from the Z Fold 6.
On the exterior side of things, you can expect the usual triple rear camera setup, consisting of a new 200 MP wide camera, followed by a 19MP telephoto lens and a 12 MP ultra-wide lens. On the selfie side of things, you might see the same 4MP camera borrowed from the Z Fold 6.
Heading over to the main highlights of the Z Fold 7 are the displays. The outer screen will be a wider 6.5-inch OLED screen, and the inside screens, with the fold open, will be an 8.2-inch OLED display. Both screens will boast of high refresh rate displays set at 120 Hertz. The displays will also have support for the S-Pen. Whether these displays will rock the anti-reflective coating as seen on the S25 Ultra is hard to tell.

These new foldables might likely come with Android 16 and One UI 8 out of the box. Looking at how One UI 8 is already undergoing beta testing on the Galaxy S25 series. Regardless of what Android version the new foldables are launched with, these foldables will be getting up to 7 years of major software and security updates. You can expect the Galaxy Z Fold 7 to be supported until 2032.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 Pricing and Offers
Samsung Z Fold 7 is expected to be affected by the higher tariffs imposed on materials. The price increase may vary across regions. The base 256 GB variant could be priced around $1999, followed by the 512 GB variant at $2119 and the mega 1 TB variant at a hefty $2359. You can expect 100-200$ price increase compared to last year. If we’re lucky, the upcoming Z Fold 7 might cost same as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 from 2024,
Samsung will also reveal pre-order offers alongside bank offers and trade-in discounts. As it is with Samsung, you can expect them to give you several free items, such as a power adapter or even a power bank. These discounts and offers will vary from region to region.
Galaxy Z Fold 7: Another One?
Last year, we saw Samsung quietly release a special edition of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 that was much better than the actual Z Fold 6 released globally. However, with the special edition, Samsung released it in a few regions only. So it will be interesting to see if Samsung will drop a new Special Edition of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. If they do tease it, you can expect it to come alongside the upcoming Galaxy Tab S11 series.
Closing Thoughts
This concludes everything we know so far about the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7. Looking at how the foldable is shaping out, is this a device that you plan to upgrade to? The specs and details mentioned above can change as these are all based on leaks and assumptions based on the previous Z Fold 6, so take all the information with a pinch of salt.
