ColorOS 16 Release Date, Supported Devices, Expected Features, and More

Summarize This Article:

The Android 16 update has been available on Pixel devices since June. With the release of Android 16 AOSP, OEMs have begun optimizing their custom skins for the new OS. Oppo is no different – the company is actively working on ColorOS 16, its upcoming custom Android skin, which will be built on top of Android 16.

In the past few years, Oppo has done a tremendous job in improving its custom skin. The company is set to bring a fresh set of features and improvements with ColorOS 16. In this article, we’ll talk about the ColorOS 16 release date, expected features, supported devices, and other details.

ColorOS 16 Release Date and Timeline

Last year, Oppo introduced its Android 15-based skin in October during its annual developer conference. However, recent rumors and reports suggest that the company might unveil ColorOS 16 earlier this year, possibly in Q3. We can expect Oppo to hold its annual developer conference next month, where it will announce the ColorOS 16 and detail its features and changes.

Oppo is already testing the Android 16 beta on the Oppo Find X8 line of phones. However, the firmware was based on ColorOS 15, so we can expect the company to soon kick-start the ColorOS 16-based beta next month.

Later, the company will expand the beta testing to older Find X-series phones and Reno-series phones. When it comes to the public rollout, the stable version of ColorOS 16 is likely to begin rollout one to two months after the beta phase begins.

ColorOS 16 Supported Devices

As per Oppo’s software update policy, a wide range of phones will be eligible for the upcoming ColorOS 16 update.
