Apple has just released the watchOS 26 developer beta 3 for testing purposes. The gradual upgrades come with subtle changes, fixes, and improvements. The newer beta comes after two weeks of the second beta.
Apple releases the third beta of watchOS 26 with 23R5307g build number. If your Apple Watch is already running on the second beta, the incremental upgrade weighs around 780MB in download size.
If you’re a developer, you can freely install watchOS 26 on your Apple Watch. Talking about the compatibility, the upgrade is available for those who own the Apple Watch Series 6 or newer models.
watchOS 26 is still in its initial phases, which means you can face bugs and issues on your Apple Watch, it also means the update is not suitable for regular use. As always, Apple didn’t mention any changes in the release notes of watchOS 26 second beta.

First things first, you need to update your iPhone to iOS 26 second dev beta. Once done, you can follow these steps to install the watchOS 26 beta on your watch.
- Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
- Tap General > Software Update.
- Select Beta Updates and enable watchOS 26 Developer Beta option.
- Go back and download the third beta of watchOS 26.
- That’s it.
Make sure that your Apple Watch is charged at least 50% and connected to a WiFi network.
Now the watchOS 26 third beta update will download and transfer to your Apple Watch.
