Apple releases iOS 26 Beta 2 to developers, download now

Apple started developer beta testing of iOS 26 earlier this month. Today, the tech giant released the second beta exactly two weeks after the first beta. There was a re-release build of the first beta in the interim, but it was only available for a limited models.

The first beta introduced iOS 26’s new liquid glass design, which unfortunately wasn’t well-received by many users because of many UI issues and bugs. While it was the first beta, bugs were expected, but it had way too many issues. We’re expecting the second beta to fix some of the major issues. We’ll know for sure after using it for a few hours.

Today, Apple has released iPadOS 26 Beta 2, watchOS 26 Beta 2, tvOS 26 Beta 2, macOS Tahoe 26 Beta 2, and visionOS 26 Beta 2, alongside the iOS 26 Beta 2.

The second beta of iOS 26 comes with build number 23A5276f. It’ll not be as big as the first developer beta if you’re updating from the first beta. However, if you’re switching from a public build, it will be several GB in size.

As usual, the iOS 26 Beta 2 doesn’t include a changelog. We need to test and find out the changes and fixes. So as of now, we don’t have the exact changes to share with you. However, we’ll share them in a list below once we find them. You can expect some new features along with bug fixes.

  • Changes in liquid glass transparency, making it easier to read controls, notifications, and other elements
  • Added a new version of Reflection ringtone
  • Safari now comes with UI changes which is easy for one hand operation
  • New live radio widget to add in the home screen
  • Option to easily transfer eSIM to Android phone
  • Detect call time to let you when to pick up after hold
  • User interface tweaks
  • Addressed some known issues
  • Many other changes

The iOS 26 Beta 2 is available for eligible models, including
iPhone 16e, iPhone 16 series, iPhone 15 series, iPhone 14 series, iPhone 13 series, iPhone 12 series, iPhone 11 series, and iPhone SE (2nd generation and later).

If you own one of the mentioned models and have already installed the first beta, you can find the second beta in Settings > General > Software Update. If you’re on a stable build and now want to try the second developer beta, you need to select the Developer Beta option on the Software Update page.

In any case, make sure to back up your device. This not only prevents data loss but also helps restore data in case you decide to downgrade your device.
