Apple has started testing the first iOS 15.3 beta and iPadOS 15.3 beta after releasing iOS 15.2 and iPadOS 15.2 to the public earlier this week. iOS 15.3 Beta 1 and iPadOS 15.3 Beta 1 are available to users who opted for the beta on their eligible iPhone and iPad. This is a small update that comes with some changes and bug fixes. Let’s see what’s new in iOS 15.3 beta 1 and iPadOS 15.3 beta 1.
iOS 15.3 beta 1 and iPadOS 15.3 beta 1 may be the last updates for the iPhone and iPad this year. There may be a public beta for the same version as currently, only its dev beta is available. We weren’t expecting a new update after the iOS 15.2 and iPadOS 15.2 public releases. But Apple never disappoints with surprises.
Along with iOS 15.3 Beta 1 and iPadOS 15.3 Beta 1, Apple also released watchOS 8.4 Beta 1, and tvOS 15.3 Beta 1. Both iOS 15.3 Beta 1 and iPadOS 15.3 Beta 1 come with build number 19D5026g. If you are switching from a public build to a beta build then the update size will be over 5GB. Now let’s talk about changes in iOS 15.3 Beta 1 and iPadOS 15.3 Beta 1.

The modem firmware on the first iOS 15.3 Beta and iPadOS 15.3 Beta has been changed. But actually, it is older than the iOS 15.2 modem firmware. There are some wording changes under Latest Episodes in PodCast app and Communication Safety under Child safety settings. There are a few more wording changes here and there, and if you find one let us know in the comment section. It also looks like Apple has fixed many bugs in AirDrop, Storage, and more.
iOS 15.3 Beta 1 and iPadOS 15.3 Beta 1
Apple releases iOS 15.3 Beta 1 and iPadOS 15.3 Beta 1 to developers. And the public beta is expected to be released late. Now if you are running the iOS 15.2 Dev based GM build, then you will receive the update on your device. To manually check for the update, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
Now if you are on the iOS 15.2 public build and want to test the first iOS 15.3 Beta, then you will need to install the beta profile on your device. We don’t recommend installing it on a primary device as we may not see the next beta update for the next two weeks and so you will be stuck with issues if there are any.
If you decide to install beta profile then after installing it, you can go to Settings > General > Software Update to install the latest update on your iPhone or iPad.
