Android 16 Beta is Now Rolling Out to Motorola Edge 50 Pro and Edge 60 Pro

Summarize This Article:

Last month, Motorola began inviting users to join its Android 16 beta program, which has since expanded to include a dozen Motorola phones. The company’s premium Edge series phones, the Edge 60 Pro and the Edge 50 Pro, are among the eligible models. Owners of both phones have now begun receiving the Android 16 beta update.

Motorola Edge 50 Pro user @allwaysvictory posted a tweet on X, confirming the rollout and software version details. The Edge 50 Pro is receiving the Android 16 beta with W1UM36H.11 firmware version with a download size of 1.42GB. The update is based on the July security patch.

Motorola Edge 60 Pro, on the other hand, received the new software upgrade with W1VV36H.7 version number. The update is already available to many users. According to the details shared by the UShiva98 user on X, it weighs approximately 1.5 GB in download size. The update will bump the security patch version to July 2025.

Neither of the two users shared any information about UI changes and new features. However, we can expect support for Android 16 features like Live updates, Desktop Window, Group notifications, New Emojis, Embedded Photo Picker, APV codec support, Predictive Back upgrades, HDR screenshots, Advanced Protection Mode, and more.

If you own a Motorola Edge 50 Pro or Edge 60 Pro, you can take part in the beta program to try out the new update.
