Xiaomi releases MIUI 12.5 Update for Mi Note 10, Mi Note 10 Pro, and Mi Note 10 Lite

For the past few days, Xiaomi is busy in pushing its newest custom skin – MIUI 12.5 based updates to their smartphones. Though, as for now, the update is available for select mid-range phones. Now the company has started releasing the latest update for Mi Note 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Lite. Yes, the update is available for all three models of Mi Note 10 lineup. As obvious, the update brings a number of new features to the smartphone, along with system enhancements and upgraded security patch. Xiaomi pushes the MIUI 12.5 update on Lite variant with V12.1.5.0.RFNTRXM version number and the vanilla Mi Note 10 and Mi Note 10 Pro gets the update with V12.5.1.0.RFDIDXM version number. For the time being, the update is limited in Turkey for Mi Note 10 Lite, while the Mi Note 10 (Pro) users in Indonesia can get access to the features of company’s latest custom skin. Both builds are weighing higher than 2.5GB, I suggest you to connect your smartphone to high-speed wireless network for uninterrupted sideloading.

The new patch also bumps up the monthly security patch May 2021 on the Mi Note 10 series. Talking about the changes, then there are minor changes in the Mi Note 10 Lite, but the Mi Note 10 and Mi Note 10 Pro changelog features a big list of changes including improved gestures responsiveness, faster rendering, system enhancements, and more. It also bring changes to the Notes app, like new tools for doodling and sketching, dynamic layouts, gesture shortcuts, and more. Xiaomi Cloud also gets location info.

Mi Note 10 (Pro) & Mi Note 10 Lite MIUI 12.5 Update

If you’re using any of the Mi Note 10 lineup smartphone, then now you can upgrade your device to the latest MIUI 12.5 update. At the time of writing, the over-the-air update is in rolling phase, we can expect it will be available to everyone in the coming days. Before upgrading your smartphone, I recommend you to take a backup, before diving into the process and charge your device to at least 30%.

To sideload the recovery ROM package (Update file), you need to head over to the system settings > updates, then select the update package manually. Then, allow the prompts to install the build.

Once the installation process is completed, reboot your Mi Note 10 Lite, Mi Note 10, or Mi Note 10 Pro before start using it. That’s it.
