Xiaomi now releases Android 11 update for Mi 9T

Just a few days ago, Xiaomi kicked-off Android 11 update for the Redmi K20. Now the global variant of Redmi K20 aka Mi 9T receives the major Android 11 update. Although, the update is still based on MIUI 12. So, if you’re waiting for the MIUI 12.5 update, then you have to wait for a few more days. The newest build comes with a number of new features, improvements, and fixes. Here you can check everything about Mi 9T Android 11 update.

The device was announced back in June 2019 with Android Pie 9.0 OS, last year, it received both Android 10 and MIUI 12 update. The latest over-the-air build knocks up the Mi 9T with 12.1.4.0.RFJMIXM software version. And the best part is, it is a stable update for global variant of Mi 9T. As for now, the update is in a rolling phase, hopefully, it will be available to everyone within a few days. We can also expect updated security patch with this release.

Talking about the changes and features, then the company has not mentioned much in the release notes aka changelog. The changelog only shows Android 11 and new location information feature for Xiaomi Cloud. Obviously, you can access the essentials of Android 11 such as Chat Bubbles, Conversation Notifications, Notification history, and more. Here’s the complete changelog you can check before moving to next section.

Mi 9T Android 11 Update (Global Stable)

Finally, the wait is over, the Mi 9T users can now upgrade their smartphone to Android 11 update. For the time being, the update is weeding over-the-air, it is already available for some users. We can hope it will be available to everyone in the coming days. I suggest you to check software updates once in the Settings app. As there are sometimes, when we don’t get the update notification and, in that case, you can check it manually by going to Settings > About Phone > MIUI Update.

But if you’re in a haste, then you can manually update your smartphone to Android 11 update. Here are the download links.

Before upgrading your smartphone, I recommend taking a backup, before diving into the process and charge your device to at least 50%. To sideload the recovery rom, you can flash it from the custom Recovery.

Once the installation process is completed, reboot your Mi 9T before start using it. That’s it.
