Xiaomi recently released Android 11 for many devices and now Mi 9 SE global variant also joins the list. The Mi 9 SE Android 11 update is available to users with MIUI 12.5. The device already bags the update in China. And finally, after a long wait all Mi 9 SE users can try the latest Android 11 update.
Xiaomi Mi 9 SE is a two year old device that was released with Android 9 out of the box. And later last year the device received Android 10 as the first major update. And now the Mi 9 SE receives Android 11 as the second major update. The phone received some MIUI updates in the past two years. This may be the last major Android update for Mi 9 SE.
Mi 9 SE Android 11 global stable is rolling out with build number V12.5.1.0.RFBMIXM. Since this is a major update, it will weigh more than any usual updates. The Mi 9 SE Android 11 based MIUI 12.5 is also rolling out in Europe with build number V12.5.1.0.RFBEUXM.
Talking about new features you can expect a bunch of new features and even the security patch upgrade. We don’t have the complete changelog on the update, but we will share it once the details are available. You will get to experience Android 11 features like chat bubbles, internal audio recording, one-time permission, improved security, and more.
Just like other updates, Mi 9 SE Android 11 based MIUI 12.5 update is also rolling out in phases. It means some users may get the update early while some have to wait for the update. To manually check for the update go to Settings > Software update. And once you see the update, click on download and install to get the update.
In case if the update is not available, you can also install the update manually using OTA zip or the recovery file.
