Xiaomi brings new Widget Ecosystem to Redmi Note 8 (2021), Note 10, and more

One of the biggest attractions of MIUI 13 is the new widgets ecosystem. MIUI 13 was announced in December last year. The rollout began last week with the Redmi Note 10 alongside some other Xiaomi phones. But initially, the update lacks a new widgets ecosystem. Yesterday, Xiaomi kicked off the MIUI 13 update for Mi 11 Lite 5G and the upgrade carries a big list of new features including the new widgets. Now the company has expanded it to some more Xiaomi phones, read along to know more about it.

At the moment, the update is available only for global units of Redmi Note 8 (2021), Redmi Note 10, Mi 11 Lite, and Mi 11 Lite 5G. Xiaomi rolls out the new update with 13.0.2.0.SCUMIXM version number on Note 8 (2021), 13.0.5.0.SKGMIXM for the Note 10, and 13.0.4.0.SKQMIXM for the Mi 11 Lite. The incremental patch is seeding with a bunch of new features and weighs less in comparison to the original MIUI 13 update. For the time being, it is available for global units, will also be available in other regions very soon.

Xiaomi starts rolling out the new updates with a bunch of new features, including a new widget ecosystem, new MIUI 13 Super Wallpapers, and more. These features were not available on the MIUI 13 updates released last month. Moving to the enhancements, then the new update brings an optimized file storage system, RAM optimization engine, processor priority optimization, extended battery life of up to 10%, new wallpapers, sidebar, and more. The update also comes with January 2021 monthly security patch on the Mi 11 Lite. Here’s the complete changelog.

The update is already available for users who opted pilot testing program, if your phone is already running on the MIUI 13 then you will get the incremental patch over the air.
