Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE receives Android 13-based MIUI 14 update

After testing the newest custom skin – MIUI 14 in mainland China. Xiaomi has started pushing it globally. Yesterday, the OEM released the new software for Xiaomi 12 series phones, and now MIUI 14 rollout goes live for Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE. The new software reaches the mid-tier Xiaomi smartphone with a bunch of new features and improvements.

For the time being, the software is available in the EEA region and a broader rollout should follow in a matter of time. If you own the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE and reside in Europe, you will receive the new software with 14.0.4.0.TKOEUXM version number. It is a significant upgrade and requires more data than security updates.

Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE was announced in 2021 with Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 software, last year, the phone received its first big upgrade in the form of Android 12-based MIUI 13. Now the company is pushing the second major software upgrade to the smartphone – Android 13-centric MIUI 14. As I said earlier, it is rolling with a bunch of new features, here is the list of new features coming with MIUI 14 skin.

Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE MIUI 13 update comes with the features like the option to uninstall more system apps, improved performance, copy text from images, Mi AI voice assistant, a bunch of visual changes, and more. Plus the MIUI 14 takes less space on the device compared to MIUI 13. Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE users can finally upgrade their phones to Android 13 based MIUI 14, currently, the upgrade is available for pilot testers only, wider rollout should follow soon. If you have opted the Xiaomi’s global beta program aka pilot program, then you may have already received the new update on your phone.

You can navigate to Settings > About Device > System Updates, then check for the new updates, if the new update is available simply tap on download and install.

If the update is not available, then you can wait for a few days, or you can manually sideload the new software on your phone. Make sure to take a backup before updating your phone, also charge your phone to at least 50%.
