Windows 11 April Update is here for version 22H2 and version 21H2. This is a monthly Windows 11 update available to all eligible users. The new Windows 11 April Update for version 22H2 comes with build 22621.1555 (KB5025239). Let’s find out more about this month’s Windows 11 Update.
As usual, the new monthly update is released on the second Monday of the month. Microsoft has been releasing updates every month on schedule. The OS preview build is released in the second half of the month, and the same changes are added to this public build as well.
So, the latest Windows 11 22H2 April update includes changes and improvements from the March 28 update which is tagged as preview build 22621.1485.
Some of the notable changes include a lighter search box in the taskbar when Windows is set to custom color mode, Microsoft Narrator reads drop down list in Excel, New features to Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, and more. Below you can see the Windows 11 April 2023 update release notes.
Improvements
This security update includes improvements that were a part of update KB5023778 (released March 28, 2023). When you install this KB:
- New! This update implements the new Windows Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS) as a Windows inbox feature. For more information, see By popular demand: Windows LAPS available now!
- This update addresses a compatibility issue. The issue occurs because of unsupported use of the registry.
All other improvements that were part of the last OS preview build will also be available in this update if you havenโt installed that build.
The April update for Windows 11 21H2 version comes with build 22000.1817 (KB5025224) and it brings some improvements as well. You can read about it over here.
