Apple successfully wrapped up the iPhone 16 launch event on September 9, but many are wondering why Apple hasn’t released the iOS 18 to the public. When will it come out? Here, weโll answer all your questions.
iOS 18 is a major update that has been in beta testing since the WWDC 24 event. Since then Apple released a total of eight developer betas along with some public betas. After the iPhone 16 launch, Apple also released the iOS 18 release candidate to developers and public beta testers.
When does iOS 18 release?
If you are not aware of the iOS release timeline, Apple usually releases a major iOS update a week after the new iPhone is launched. This means that iOS 18 will be released to the Public next week. Apple has officially confirmed the date, which is September 16.
Apple has already released the iOS 18 RC which is the update released usually a week before the public build. This means the next update will be iOS 18 public release, unless there are any major issues with the RC.
Apple follows the same pattern almost every year, which involves releasing iOS RC on the day of the iPhone launch event and then a public release the following week.
