WhatsApp for Android has finally received a notable home screen interface ever since the application was released for Android devices. Since the layout is new for Android users, many people are wondering how they can check the status on the platform. Worry not, here are the steps to check status on WhatsApp after the new iOS-like navigation bar UI on Android.

The new UI looks very similar to the app’s iOS interface, which WhatsApp has been testing for Android devices since last year (2023). The new UI changes the chats, calls, communities, and status tabs to the bottom of the screen. WhatsApp has not added the settings tab on the bottom like on iOS devices, but it’s still there in the three-dot menu for Android users.

How to Check Status on WhatsApp Android After New Navigation Bar UI

Since it’s a new change, if you have not updated the WhatsApp app, you may still see the old UI. To enjoy the new navigation bar UI on your Android device, just update the app to the latest version. If you have the new navigation bar UI and are looking for the steps to check status, follow the below steps:

Step 1: Open the WhatsApp app on your Android phone.

Step 2: Tap the Updates tab from the bottom navigation. You can also visit the same page by swiping from right to left.

Step 3: On the next screen, you will see all the statuses under the Status section.

If a person has a status that you have not yet viewed, it will show like a green circle around their name. Tap on it to see the status. All the viewed statuses will appear with a gray circle without the green circle around them.
