WhatsApp, Meta’s popular messaging platform, is enhancing its calling feature just in time for the holiday season. WhatsApp has started rolling out four new features and changes to improve the calling experience on the platform.
With over 2 billion calls made daily on WhatsApp, these new additions and improvements will make calling even more seamless. The new changes are rolling out across both desktop and mobile platforms. If you’re a WhatsApp user, you can now try these four new features.
Select call participants: You can now select specific participant in a group and make a call without disturbing the rest. This is one of the most awaited features, especially for groups with multiple participants.
New effects for video calls: During video calls, you can choose from ten effects such as puppy ears, underwater effect, and more for fun conversations. This is a great addition ahead of the holiday season.
Improved calling on desktop: On WhatsApp for Desktop, the calling options are sorted for convenience. Now when you tap on the call icon, you will get three options; Start a call, New call link, and Dial a number.
Better quality video calls: WhatsApp has improved video call quality on both 1:1 and group calls. This means you can now have video conversation with your friends and family in even higher resolution.
