Despite the fact that the Apple Watch is one of the most dominant smartwatches in the market, there is not much information about them as we would like. Sure, there are reviews and information about the specifications of the Apple Watch, but there are not as much detailed descriptions about the functions of the Apple Watch.
This article explains one of the functions of the Apple Watch, the “i” icon to be specific. Let’s get started.
What is the “i” icon on Apple Watch?
The circled “i” in the corner of your Apple Watch display stands for Information and is used to pair or re-pair an Apple Watch to an iPhone.
The “i” icon inside a circle is not unique to Apple products. It is a common symbol indicating a place to get more information across different software functions.
So, if you tap on the “i” icon, you will get more details about that specific function.
The “i” icon appears across all versions of the Apple Watch and watchOS.
Where is the “i” icon on the Apple Watch?
When you purchase a new Apple Watch and start the pairing process, there will be a Start Pairing button that, when tapped, will start the automatic pairing process.
You will also see a small circle with the “i” icon inside the circle. When you tap on that icon, you will be taken to the manual pairing process if, for whatever reason, the automatic process doesn’t work.
If you go with the automatic pairing process, you will see a bubble of scannable dots and in the bottom-right corner below the bubble, you will see the “i” icon there as well.
Note: The series of dots in a circle act is Apple’s fancy, proprietary QR code which passes information from the Apple Watch to the phone when scanned.
There are multiple uses of this “i” icon apart from just giving you a more detailed information about a function. Here, we will tell you about those functions:
