Apple brought an anticipated feature ‘AOD’ to its latest premium iPhones, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Unfortunately, the Always On Display is only available on two models. It will also be available on upcoming iPhones.

Earlier, iPhone 14 Pro users were forced to use an AOD in which the wallpapers were visible and hence it doesn't feel like a pure AOD.

But later with iOS 16.2 update, Apple added the option to remove wallpaper from Always on display. So this makes a total of two AOD modes.

Now since AOD is known for power consumption on Android phones, you will be interested to know how much battery it consumes in iPhone 14 Pro.

Phonebuff did a test (shared on Youtube) to measure the battery consumption between AOD, AOD without wallpaper and without AOD.

Without AOD - 100% AOD without Wallpaper - 84% AOD with Wallpaper - 80%

Results After 24 Hours:

So if you look at per hour consumption for AOD, it goes as given. - AOD without Wallpaper - 0.6% per hour - AOD with Wallpaper - 0.8% per hour

The test was conducted in different light brightness but this did not affect the battery consumption rate.

The power consumption in general use will be different because the AOD turns off in many conditions like keeping the phone face down, in pocket, sleep focus etc.
