iOS 17 bundles a flurry of new useful features, with one standout feature is Screen Distance.
Screen Distance can help improving eye health. It uses the TrueDepth camera to detect when you hold your iPhone closer than 30 cm for long period of time.

It is the next step towards Digital Wellbeing, here’s how you can turn on Screen Distance on your iPhone.

- Open Settings on your iPhone. - Select Screen Time.
- Tap Screen Distance option in the Limit Usage section. - Tap Continue to begin. - Turn the Toggle On for Screen Distance.
Now if you hold your iPhone closer than 30 cm (12 inches) for a limited period of time, you will immediately see this warning message.
Screen Distance is a new accessibility tool, aimed at Children under 13 in a Family Sharing group.
