Nothing will bring iMessage to its Android Phones

November 15, 2023

The main selling point for iPhones is the iMessage as users want to be part of the blue bubble.

But it only works within the Apple ecosystem and doesn't work with Android phones. Well, this was the case until now.

Nothing founder Carl Pei announced that the Nothing team will bring iMessage support to Nothing phones.

In a YouTube video posted by Nothing, Carl Pei interacted with a writer at Inverse and shared the journey of creating Nothing Chats.

Nothing chats will launch first on the Nothing Phone 2. And also it will be in limited regions at first which include the US, Canada, UK, and EU.

The Nothing Chats is powered by Sunbird where Sunbird is working at the backend and Nothing is taking care of the app part.

As per reports, it will be available on Nothing Phone 2 starting November 18. Yes in a couple of days.

It will let Nothing Phone 2 users send messages to iPhone users in blue bubble.

This is a great step from Nothing as Messages should connect people and not restrict them from connecting with different OS users.

We might see more OEMs choose this type of alternative bringing on their phone. Or Nothing could release the Nothing Chats for all Android phones.
