Google accidentally sends free money to Google Pay users. Many users reported that they have received free credits in their account.

The amount varies for users from $10 to more than $1000. It seems that Christmas came too early.
These free credits reached users through different cashback rewards which appeared in notifications.

The notification appeared with the tag 'Dogfooding the Google Pay Remittance Experience'. These rewards may have been meant for Google employees.

For some users who didn't get the notification, they looked in the Deals app in the app and the cashback coupons were sitting there for free.

Since this was an accident on Google's part, the company is reversing free credits from anyone who didn't use it. But those who already used the credit have nothing to worry about.
