watchOS 9.4 fourth beta update is out for developers

watchOS 9.4 has been in the testing phase for the past few weeks now. Today, Apple seeds the fourth beta of watchOS 9.4 to the developers. The latest beta arrives one week after the third beta. Obviously, we can’t expect any new changes in the fourth beta instead performance optimizations.

Apple plants the fourth beta on compatible Apple Watches with a 20T5249a build number. It is a small incremental update weighing 288MB in size which is around 200MB less than the third beta. watchOS 9.4 beta is available for all Apple Watches compatible with watchOS 9 update. If you are a developer then you can freely upgrade your Apple Watch to the watchOS 9.4 beta, it is available for both developers and public beta testers.

Just like the previous beta updates, Apple didn’t share any information about changes in the release notes, but you can expect new features and enhancements with this update. Here’s how you can update your Apple Watch to watchOS 9.4 beta.

watchOS 9.4 fourth developer beta

If your iPhone is running on the latest iOS 16.4 fourth beta, then you can easily update your Apple Watch to the new watchOS 9.4 beta 4, all you need to do is, install the beta profile on your device and then update it over the air. Here’s how you can update your watch to the beta.

  1. At first, you need to login to Apple Developer Program website.
  2. Then, head over to the downloads.
  3. Tap on watchOS 9.4 beta 4 available under featured downloads. Then tap on the download button.
  4. Now install watchOS 9.4 beta 4 profile on your iPhone, then authorize the profile by going to Settings > General > Profiles.
  5. Now restart your iPhone.

Make sure that your Apple Watch is charged at least 50% and connected to a WiFi network. After installing the beta profile, open the Apple Watch app on your phone, head over to General > Software Update > Download and Install, then install the new software.

Now the watchOS 9.4 beta 4 update will download and transfer to your Apple Watch. And after the completion of the installation process, your watch will restart. Once all done, you can start using your Apple Watch.
