watchOS 8.7 beta 3 update goes live for developers

Last week, Apple unveiled its updated software lineup at WWDC 22. The company had unveiled iOS 16, iPadOS 16, watchOS 9, macOS Ventura, and more. But the testing is already underway for the watchOS 8.7, released last month. Just a few days ago, Apply kicked off the second beta to the developers. Apple seeds the third beta of watchOS 8.7 with 19U5046b build number. As it is a small incremental upgrade over the second beta, it requires a small amount of data for downloading. Yes, you can quickly update your Apple Watch to the new version. Like every other watchOS 8 iteration update, the availability of this build is also for Apple Watch Series 3 and newer. If you’re a developer you can freely download it on your Watch.

Talking about the features, then as of now, it’s not clear whether the third beta brings anything new to the Apple Watch or not. Since we’re not aware of watchOS 8.7 goodies yet, you can check the features released with watchOS 8.6. The recently released version brings ECG app support for Apple Watch Series 4 or later and Irregular heart rhythm notifications in Mexico.

  1. At first, you need to login to Apple Developer Program website.
  2. Then, head over to the downloads.
  3. Tap on watchOS 8.7 beta 3 available under featured downloads. Then tap on the download button.
  4. Now install watchOS 8.7 beta 3 profile on your iPhone, then authorize the profile by going to Settings > General > Profiles.
  5. Now restart your iPhone.

If your Apple Watch is already running on the third beta of watchOS 8.7, then you’ll receive the new update over-the-air, while if you’re on a stable build, then here’s how you can join the beta.
