After releasing the sixth beta build last week, today, Apple seeds watchOS 7.4 beta 7 update to developers. The latest update is weeding the Apple Watch with enhancements and bug fixes. The seventh beta patch of watchOS 7.4 has been pushed to the developers with 18T5194a build number. The new build weighs half then the previous build – it weighs only 78MB to be precise. With this we can expect that watchOS 7.4 is one step closer to release. If you’re a developer then you can freely upgrade your Apple Watch to the watchOS 7.4 beta 7.

The latest update is available for the Apple Watch Series 3 or newer models. Talking about the features and changes then the watchOS 7.4 is set to come with a big list of changes, including unlocking iPhone with Apple Watch while wearing a Mask. If you want to update your Apple Watch to watchOS 7.4 Beta 7, then at first you need to update your iPhone to the latest iOS 14.5 beta 7. After doing this, you can set the profile to sideload watchOS 7.4 beta 7 on your Watch.

  1. At first, you need to login to Apple Developer Program website.
  2. Then, head over to the downloads.
  3. Tap on watchOS 7.4 beta 7 available under featured downloads. Then tap on the download button.
  4. Now install watchOS 7.4 beta 7 profile on your iPhone, then authorize the profile by going to Settings > General > Profiles.
  5. Now restart your iPhone.

Here are some prerequisites, that you can check before installing it on your Apple Watch.

Prerequisites:

  • Make sure that your Apple Watch is charged to at least 50% and connected to the charger.
  • Make sure that your iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi.
  • Make sure that your iPhone is running on iOS 14.5.

After downloading the watchOS 7.4 beta 7 profile, you can head over to the Settings app on the Watch and then tap on Software Update. You can also use your iPhone to update the Apple Watch to the new update, you can open Apple Watch Companion app on iPhone and sideload the latest build on your watch.
