After a long haul of beta testing, Apple today released the final testing build of watchOS 11 to testers. watchOS 11 release candidate is finally rolling out to testers, if your Apple Watch is already running on the watchOS 11 beta, then you can freely install the new upgrade on your watch.
Apple pushes the watchOS 11 RC build to the eligible watches with the 22R349 version number. As the update is equivalent to an upcoming public release, it requires a huge chunk of data for installation. The incremental upgrade on my Apple Watch Series 7 weighs approx. 270MB in size, also ensure that your iPhone is running on iOS 18 RC.
watchOS 11 boasts several new features including the all-new Vitals app, which allows users to quickly view key overnight health metrics, providing better context to stay updated on their health. Additionally, the update gains pregnancy support, helping users track changes in their physical and mental health during this important time.
Training Load is another key feature of watchOS 11, which provides an insightful way to measure and control workout intensity. It also helps users understand the strain on their bodies. The fitness app now allows you to take a rest day without missing any important streaks in your activity ring.
watchOS 11 also brings a new updated Photos Watch Face, more customizable Activity Rings, updated Smart Stack, a Translate app, and more.
watchOS 11 Release Candidate
If your iPhone or iPad is running on the latest version of iOS 18 release candidate, then you can easily sideload the watchOS 11 RC on your Watch.
- Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
- Tap General > Software Update.
- Select Beta Updates and enable watchOS 11 Developer Beta or Public Beta option.
- Go back and download the seventh beta of watchOS 11.
- Thatโs it.
Make sure that your Apple Watch is charged at least 50% and connected to a WiFi network.
Now the watchOS 11 release candidate update will download and transfer to your Apple Watch. And after the completion of the installation process, your watch will restart. Once all done, you can start using your Apple Watch.
