Apple has released the second beta of watchOS 11.1 for testing purposes. The gradual upgrade comes out a week after the official release of the first beta. The update is expected to bring Apple Intelligence features to the watch along with system-wide improvements. Read on to know more about the watchOS 11.1 beta 2.
Apple is seeding the new update on the watch with the 22R5554e build number. The gradual upgrade weighs approx. 486MB on my Apple Watch Series 7. At the time of writing, the update is live for developers, it should be available for public beta testers in a matter of time. It is a free upgrade, so if your watch runs on watchOS 11 beta, you can easily update it to the newer version.
Talking about the features and changes, while the changelog does not mention any specific features, this doesn’t mean the absence of new features. We can expect the update to bring some Apple Intelligence features, as well as other features to the watch. Apart from that you can expect system-wide, enhancements, and bug fixes.
watchOS 11.1 Beta 2
If your iPhone or iPad is running on the latest version of iOS 18.1 developer beta, then you can easily sideload the watchOS 11.1 beta 2 on your Watch.
- Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
- Tap General > Software Update.
- Select Beta Updates and enable watchOS 11 Developer Beta option.
- Go back and download the second beta of watchOS 11.1.
- Thatโs it.
Make sure that your Apple Watch is charged at least 50% and connected to a WiFi network.
Now the watchOS 11.1 beta 2 update will download and transfer to your Apple Watch. And after the completion of the installation process, your watch will restart. Once all done, you can start using your Apple Watch.
