Vivo Y12 now receives Android 11 (Funtouch OS 11) Update in India [Greyscale Testing]

Back in 2019, Vivo announced its affordable Vivo Y12 smartphone with Funtouch OS 9.0 based Android Pie. The company doesn’t push the Funtouch OS 10 update to the smartphone, but now the users are reportedly receiving a big update on their smartphones. Yes, Vivo has started pushing the big Funtouch OS 11 based Android 11 update to its affordable Y-series phone. The update bags a bunch of new features, improvements, and updated security patch. Two months ago, Vivo shared the details of its newest Funtouch OS 11 skin roadmap. Although, the company hasn’t mentioned any Y-series model, but there are some Vivo Y12 users allegedly receiving the Funtouch OS 11 based Android 11 OTA.

The airborne build carries Vivo rev 6.71.46 software version and weighs a huge 3.68GB of size for downloading. According to the Vivo India Care team, as for now, the update is under greyscale testing, which simply means that the update is in staged rollout phase, soon it will be released through normal OTA channel.

Talking about the details, then the Funtouch OS 11 update on Vivo Y12 comes with a set of new features. The company also bring a number of changes with this update, the list include features like a number of visual changes, customizable AOD, Multi-turbo mode 4.0, rounded icons, and a few other changes as well. Other than that, you can use the basic features of Android 11 on the Vivo Y12.

Vivo Y12 Android 11 Update (Funtouch OS 11)

Funtouch OS 11 update on Vivo Y12 is under greyscale testing, it will take some time to reach every device. If you’re in a hurry and want to taste the features of Funtouch OS 11, then make sure to update your device to latest software version. Also, before updating your smartphone to the new update, make sure to take a backup of important data and also charge your device to at least 30%.

In case you’ve not received the OTA notification on your Vivo Y12, then I recommend you to check the updates manually in the system settings. To manually check for updates simply go to Settings on your Vivo Y12. And then go to System > Software Update. It will show the available update that you can download and install on your phone.

Before updating your smartphone to the newer update, make sure to charge your device to at least 40% and also take a backup of important data before sideloading the update.
