Vivo has started rolling out Android 12 beta based Funtouch OS 12 for Vivo X70 Pro+. Vivo X70 Pro + is currently Vivo’s top flagship phone. After the official announcement of Android 12, other OEMs are actively working on their custom OS. And Vivo enters the limited OEM club after rolling out the Android 12 beta update for Vivo X70 Pro+. It is based on Funtouch OS 12.
As of now, some big brands like Oppo, Samsung, and OnePlus have rolled out Android 12 based custom OS for their flagship smartphones. Even Samsung has already started rolling out the stable Android 12 based One UI 4.0 update for the Galaxy S21 series.
Talking about Android update news from Vivo, Last month the OEM released the full Android 12 beta roadmap for eligible Vivo phones. The roadmap timeline is from November 2021 to April 2022. As you can guess, Vivo X70 Pro+ is the first phone on the list. And as promised, Vivo has started rolling out the update before the end of November 2021.
The Android 12 beta update for Vivo X70 Pro+ comes with build number PD2145F_EX_36.8.12. The update has been seen going live in India. Thanks to Abhishek Yadav who is popular for sharing smartphone related information. He already received the update on his Vivo X70 Pro+.
As per the attached screenshot, the update brings some interesting changes to Control Center, Settings, Performance, etc. Below, you can check the changelog. As of now, the complete changelog is not available but we will update once it is available to us.

Vivo only shares the roadmap for beta update and not the stable update. But with the beta update, we can guess that the stable update will roll out in a couple of months after the beta update. So for Vivo X70 Pro+, you can expect the stable Android 12 based Funtouch OS 12 update by the end of December 2021 or in the first two months of 2022.
The Android 12 beta update for Vivo X70 Pro+ comes in an update size of 5.84GB. Yes, the update weighs more than any major update released before. So if you are interested in trying the Android 12 beta on your Vivo X70 Pro+, then make sure you are using WiFi or have enough data for the update.
Before upgrading to the latest Android 12 beta, make sure to take a full backup and also charge your phone to at least 50%.

I hope they do a major overhaul of their current flawed OS. Having the X70 Pro now, I can attest that user experience on Vivo phones is extremely pathetic.
Also, I hope they will have at the very least, capable and competent customer service personnel and bug fix teams. One OTA update completely broke the 5x camera stabilization. It has been well over 3 months now, and I have submitted many bug reports and logs. They could not fix it.
I want to like Vivo’s products, but I just cannot.
